Argolis & Nafplio (Epidavrus & Mycenae)

Depart via the coastal National highway for the Corinth Canal where you make a short stop.

Continue our way to Mycenae and visit the archaeological site, home to the kingdom of mythical Agamemnon. Visit the Palace, the Lionesses Gate and the tomb of Agamemnon. Before lunch break you can have an optional stop in a pottery factory.

Proceed through Argos, to Nafplia, the first capital of modern Greece with its Venetian fortress of Palamidi and the fortress islet of Bourtzi where you can have a short photo stop.

Continue to Epidavrus and visit the ancient theater. The UNESCO’s world heritage listed monument is reputed to the birthplace of Apollo’s son Askpelios, the healer and was the most celebrated healing center of the classical world. Epidavrus is probably most famous for its theater, one of the best preserved classical Greek buildings and still used today due to its amazing acoustics. Departure to Nafplio for short walk.
